catastrophic failure 0x8000ffff in vista

  cayman 12:15 05 Aug 08

I have suddenly started getting this error when using Scheduler. It was working but now will pop up this message when trying to click on anything. I have tried to find a fix but not having any luck as yet.
Any help?

Try a system restore to before the event.

There is a fix click here
but you need to contact Microsoft to get it. See the link.
This isn't unusual. Certain fixes they develope are only available to those that need them. It has happened to me in the past.

Sorry that item may be a bit old for you. It's probably being caused by something else.

Thanks for the reply, The fix you refer to is for a previous version of the corrupt files so would not apply to mine.
I do not want to do a restore as I have just loaded office 2007. Perhaps that is the problem. As i cannot remember exactly when this started it would be difficult to rewind to before the fault.

Thanks for the help.
