When I'm connected to the internet, I can't see or view any images it comes out as an X. As I'm new to Vista, I’m not sure where I need to go to change the settings.

In IE7, click Tools, select Internet Options, click Advanced tab, scroll down just over half-way to Multimedia, make sure Show Pictures is ticked.

Try a system restore to before you had the problem. Possibly the easiest way if it works.
