Alert system, battery voltage low.

Hi There. This message is on my screen every time i switch on my computor, Windows 7. Alert System battery voltage Low,strike the f1 key to continue or the F2 key to run the set up utility. What does it mean and how do i get rid of it perminatly, its only just started.

If it is a computer and not a laptop could it be telling you to replace the CMOS battery. Are you having problems keeping the correct time and date if so it will be the CMOS needing replaced.

Thanks, it is a desktop computor, and the dates and times are all ok.

Replace the CMOS battery - its a small button battery usually C2032 on the motherboard. cheap to replace and easy to do.
