Access to XP files on my Vista laptop

My old laptop died (motherboard fault) so I purchased an external HDD kit and put my old hard drive into that.

I now have a new laptop which has Vista.

I connect the HDD via USB to the laptop and am able to see my files on the ext HDD.

BUT each time I try and access the files I get a denied permission error message. How can I gain access to my files?

I no longer have the other laptop.

Any ideas/ advice.

Thanks in advance

Yes, it's usually because files were created in a differnt place, but here a trick which usually works click here
