Y.H.A Hostels

  techie4me 19:32 02 Sep 07

Does anyone going on holiday using the YHH Hostels?
I used to use them in my younger days, but have not for 15 years.
I'm after a cheap weeks holiday walking.
Any ideas for a good Hostel to stay at?

Try Alfriston, between Brighton and Eastbourn.
Lady in 'control' is a keen walker and she will help.
Have stayed there over twenty times, the showers are much better now!

Possibly Wales as plenty of climbing & may be a couple of trips up Snowdon.
Yorkshire Dales aslo possible as great countryside & used to work up their.
Cheers for the advice.

There are some good ones

up and around the Lake District."

I can vouch for that,as I live on the edge of it and not only do we have some good hostels but there's also "camping barns" too.

I spent a week in a hostel on the edge of Derwent Water while on a geography field trip at school and it was great, but that was in about 1975 (ooch)I live on the south caost.
