World average earnings - where are we?

There has been much news on how a few very rich folk have a huge percentage of the worlds wealth. This link shows (with various cautions) that the average world adult earnings are about £11,291 a year. I thought this was quite high, seeing that over a third of the world earn less than $2 a day.

World average earnings

I suspect that there will always be the super rich, but the gap does seem to be increasing. Even if , somehow, one could do a "Robin Hood" it would not push up the average by much and the tax take would fall. Comments?

Pointless statistics created by those on high salaries with nothing better to do.

Is it just greed by the super rich or do they just do it because they can.

I think it becomes an obsession with some, the world in not enough, most of us would like a bit more money but at what price in terms of quality of life.
