Working in Norway...

  Simsy 08:15 27 Aug 08

Folks, first of all I should say that advice will be sought elsewhere, but I though I'd check this great repository of knowledge in the first instance, in case there's anything we haven't thought of checking...

My son having just graduated, has been offered a job in Norway, and is taking it. This means there are a few financial items to be dealt with.

He'll be living in Norway, and paid in NOK, so he'll get a bank account there, but any immediate pointers on the following would be appreciated.

Bearing in mind that Norway is not part of the EU what's the position on the following;

Work permit requirement.
Tax payable.
Health care/Dental provision.
NI payments, here in Britain.
Student Loan repayment.

I repeat, I'm not going to rely on any financial advice given here, just looking for any pointers, and things to consider, or informed knowledge of the situation.

Thanks in advance,
