Wireless network by ESP

I have just received a call from a friend who has bought a laptop with wireless internet. He called me asking why he couldn't get on the internet.

I know from previous visits that he has no WAP, no other Wireless devices in his house and that all the wireless networks in our area are secured (yes I've tried them).

Apparently he thought when he bought it that 'it would just pick up a signal from somewhere and use it'. Ho hum. Calls like this help keep a smile on your face.

Meanwhile, I'm off to think about a document I need to write - who knows, the PC may pick up my signals and type it for me. Somehow I doubt it.

Perhaps that`s why they made him the boss.

If your mate takes his laptop out, there are WiFi hotpspots around various places where they can connect to the Internet. Some are free to use but others charge by the hour. I think there's a free one that covers Birmingham but I can't remember if it's active yet. click here, click here, click here and click here to search for locations near you.
