When shopping for a laptop, what's your price limit? Have your say in the poll in the lefthand column.

There isn't a zero option.

I've added a zero option, Pine Man.

Here's a direct link to the poll.

found on a laptop under the £300 price tag

anything more would be more a lot more omfortable on a desktop pc

And I went for the cheapest I can find. Eventually found one for just £300. I only browse the net, look after my websites and maybe play a game or two, so most modern laptops, no matter how low the spec, are good enough for that.

Wow, that was fast!

I ticked all the options 'for a laugh', and it seemed to accept that. Maybe it didn't.

Just got a new Acer laptop with MS office for under £400. Does all I want so no need to spen more.

Just bought an HP at a local store for £399. I prefer to shop locally for this sort of thing in case of needing to return the purchase for any reason!

but I doubt if I'll do that again. I currently have two laptops, the one just referred to, and a machine that I paid a shade over £500 for. To be honest, I get just as much from the cheaper machine in terms of productivity - the more expensive laptop goes travelling with me because it's very thin and light.

However, thats an upper limit (as asked). I have bought at that, and also cheaper.

I'd also like to add that I would never buy a second hand one, no matter how good it was. (risk of it being stolen property, or having had a hard physical life compared to a desktop)
