what has it come to

Moving on a wee bit from Carmichael I now read that a peer of the realm Sir Malcolm Bruce in support of Carmichael states its acceptable for MPs and Cabinet ministers to tell lies. What on earth does that say for the Westminster system of government and what does it say Sir Malcolm's and the LibDem set of values.

* its acceptable for MPs and Cabinet ministers to tell lies*

It seems to have been accepted by most of us but it should not be whatsoever. If this is to become the norm then matters need addressing and quickly. Lying by politicians should be totally unacceptable.

"its acceptable for MPs and Cabinet ministers to tell lies."

It has always been acceptable.

What is not acceptable is getting caught!

That has always been, and should remain, a resigning matter.
