It's a classic example of American corn.

A different model of the same idea was on this week's 'Have I Got News For You?' (See 18m 40s in)

Ahh!

Hang on, it's the watch battery that's expired!

Panic over.

Don't think I'll replace it though.

I've got a horn on my car that tells people that!

I wonder what insurance companies think about that watch, and whether a new premiums structure or terms and conditions would come into place?.

I also wonder if that is why at some checkouts, they might wish "Have a good day"?.

I'd just keep it running permanently slow...

  spuds 13:06 23 Oct 13

But what happens when the expiry date of the battery runs out, does that provide everlasting life or sudden death, assuming that the watch is not solar powered?.

I'd buy and wear two of 'em 'death-watches' [ one on each wrist ] ... so's to 'give-me-just-a-little-more-time'. [TIC]

Just keep winding the time back by 23 hours each day..you will live forever.
