but I can't help feeling this would become a very expensive non-entity like the NHS University.

Still, in principle it seems like a good idea, even though the real extent of cybercrime is not that clear (i.e. many people believe they are victims when they are not).

While cybercrime is a serious problem one might hope they might turn some attention to "everyday" crime first.
