This list of exchanges between aircraft and Ground Control is interesting.

Pilots etc

I can remember landing at Benina (Libya) in a Shackleton in 1961.

Air Traffic told our pilot, who happened to be the squadron CO, to turn right at such and such a point.

The CO, Carson by name, said, "That's just about where I opened my bomb doors last time I was here."

Unfortunately the controller was Italian!

we used to listen to heathrow on a radio, heard some amazing banter, and some dreadful poor english from some pilots mis understanding instructions and having to be corrected.

best one we posted here at the time ages ago. a virgin jumbo was giiven clearence to take off when he reported he had lost control of his front nose wheels, delayed all the flights till it was towed away never got on the news, we thought a serious disater avoided at last minute had it tried to take off would it have veered off the runway or worse crashed on landing.
