Thinking about a Blu-Ray Drive

Have you experienced greater clarity and realism in movie playback through your comp? Thinking aboutreplacing my drive but wondering if it's really worth it or is it a case of more money than sense??

...OR itchy fingers?

I've got blu ray drive on my PC, but it's almost entirely used for backup purposes, and use as a normal DVD drive.
That said, I've watched plenty of hi def content on my PC. It comes back to what was said on a recent thread; how good high definition is, depends on how the film was shot.

Personally I like the blu ray player we have in the living room, and some films really do benefit.

Just one last point: I've not checked PC blu ray layers, but it isn't uncommon for standalone players to have hardware upscalers, so that even standard definition DVDs can benefit.

Maybe it's just my itchy fingers. Thanks for the post. Think I'll do w/o for the time being.
