Bit late, but I've not been too good.

Just like to wish those from across the way Happy Thanksgiving

My wife has several American Email friends and its amazing how naive they can be.

She has been asked

Why don't Brits celebrate Thankgiving?

Why don't Brits celebrate 4th July?

and my favourite..

Do Brits have Christmas at the same time as we do?

"What language do you speak in England?"

Genuinely asked of me, some years ago!

Regards,

Simsy

There are many things about America and Americans that I don't like, but Thanksgiving is their major and most heartfelt festival, going back to their very roots, even older than the US itself, much more so than Christmas over here.

As such I find it in poor taste to criticise and mock them at such a time, particularly when a thread of genuine good wishes is hijacked to do so.

Apologies if I'm seen as over sensitive.
