I usually have Xmas dinner round at my sister's / neice's house.

What will we all be chit-chatting about?

...it's a good ice-breaker!

One can only guess what you will be gassing about.

...and ice is probably not the best word to match with breaker in this context:)

Isn't it nice that we have all the familiar repeats on the television again this year....

Our biggest discussion point at the dinner table, will be: Whose got the threepennybit from the Christmas pudding. Or who wants to 'break the wishbone' from the poultry?.

Perhaps the kid's of today, might have very different ideas?.

For many people, particularly on this forum, the discussion will probably be how much better Christmases were in the old days!

I don't like having to converse while I'm trying to enjoy a meal, and sprouts give me 'rusty water' excretions, so I don't eat them any more.

In our house anything and everything become family topics of discussion.

It reminds me of Lewis Carroll's "Walrus & the Carpenter"

"The time has come, the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax— Of cabbages—and kings—. And why the sea is boiling hot— And whether pigs have wings."
