Sony - when speaking to a human can be a pain

wanted to register a purchase on the E-Support site.

Normallty it is just a question of typing in serial number but yesterday the system didn't want to work for me.

So I called their Tech Line. No problem was the reply, please email/fax proof of purchase and I can do it said the friendly advisor.

I could not do either so asked him why he needed proof of purchase but if I did it myself on their web site none was required. No answer.

I tried again after and the site accepted my registering (without my computer asking me for proof of purchase) and next day the advisor called me to confirm registry.

No moans about the service buy I still find this peculiar. I have asked for an explanation, maybe I will get a reply, who knows

How odd. Surely, just having the required serial number should be sufficient proof in both cases.

Human contact, on-screen scripted verse perhaps. Computers do not have this problem!.
