That's the trouble with all of these food claims - organic, free range, outdoor reared, Farm Assured or even British.

You simply have to take them at face value and hope that the checks are in place to prevent deliberate mis-labelling.

Obviously in some cases, since this involved more than one retailer, they are not.

I buy mine from my local farmer, his eggs are great, and so free range they occasionally invade my garden.
He is definately not a rich man, and it is sad to hear that con men can make money like that when true small hill farmers struggle to make a living.

Another case for the Food Standards Agency to buck up it's procedures again.

I can understand Tescos not following up on the source of it's produce because they don't seem to care much, but Sainsburys should be throughly ashamed.
