.. and the latest Tory hoarding hits England - showing Salmond picking the pocket of the English, with the slogan "Don't let the Scots steal your cash". If they are really stealing your cash why did he BEG them to stay in the Union, last September? Masochism?

So far Scots have been called "leeches, lefties on steroids, clear and present dangers, baby killers to rival King Herod, and subsidy junkies - among many other things" by their English neighbours (which, as an Englishman, I've found completely abhorrent)!! Now they imply they are pickpockets, as well. Disgraceful!

Just how low will Cameron allow his campaign to sink? Does he not see that he is destroying the Union, all by himself? Polls today are suggesting SNP may take all 59 seats in Scotland - it looks like he has galvanised Scottish opinion on an unprecedented scale!! SNP now polling 54%.

By contrast Nicola Sturgeon has been impeccable in not retorting to these slurs on Scots - which is presumably why she is by far the most popular politician in the UK (ie not just in Scotland).

I detest the 'mud-slinging', wish they would all just concentrate on the economy etc.

It has been a messy disappointing lack lustre campaign which I suppose is representative of the calibre of the current raft of politicians.

Cameron has been woeful, Milliband worse and Sturgeon, much as I dislike her, has run rings round them all.

It would appear highly likely that the union will break up as a result.

I was of the opinion that the Scots should have had their independence, I am still of that opinion. They hate us and we pretty much feel the same. With the collapse in the oil price their grandiose aims are laughable, let them go, and when their tartan utopia crashes in flames I for one will relish watching their death agonies!

Maybe all this reflects the truth that Sturgeon and so many others have been claiming, that the Westminster cabal detest the regions and the further North or West you go the more they detest.

As has been said Cameron single-handedly has ,by his sneering comments, done more to damage the Union than Salmond or Sturgeon has or ever will do.His TOTAL lack of statesmanship on this point alone marks him as unsuitable to lead a united unified country.

I presume that applies to the Welsh and Northern Irish as well?

I always just assume Flak999's UKIP party hates everyone who's not English, anyway!!

ps Flak999, have you noticed the price of petrol is starting to rise again? Oil prices have always fluctuated, just keep telling yourself the Scots are too poor, too wee and too thick to look after themselves - you doom-mongers are all the same!

I have listened carefully to SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Greens. Forgetting the xenophobia aspects, it is their extreme , almost Marxist, economic polices that I cannot accept. All the talk of "an end to austerity", increasing spending on public services etc, with a totally unrealistic view of where the money is to come from.

UKIP will never get enough seats to wield influence, and The Liberals are losing support.

I agree Sturgeon is the most charismatic of the leaders (although if the SNP get all the Scottish seats I wonder if that "one party state" is healthy), and that "Tory hatred" has been exacerbated by Cameron, but the National Debt seems to have been brushed aside. The only hope of a sensible coalition is a Tory - Labour one, but that is not going to happen. Trouble ahead, I fear. This reminds me of the late '40's

"I presume that applies to the Welsh and Northern Irish as well?"

Why would you presume that? neither the Welsh nor the Northern Irish unionists want independence, they know which side their bread is buttered! Plaid will be lucky to get one seat, if that!

The oil price will never rise enough to make the residue available in the North Sea economically viable again. With Americas production of shale oil and gas only set to rise and rise and the Saudis aim to keep on pumping and also with Irans oil about to hit the world market, Nicola and Alec's dreams of a socialist utopia built on oil are just that dreams.

The sooner you lot north of the border get on with bankrupting yourselves the better, and you know what? Once your gone your gone, Hadrian didn't build that wall for a joke, he knew you all needed to be kept out! ;-)

I have had too much of this farce and no longer bother opening, reading or responding to anything election related.

As far as I am concerned the 4 main parties, Tory, Lab, Lib-Dem and SNP are all trying to out-lie one another and frankly, if the leader of any of them told me it was raining, I would look outside for myself!

Politicians are the most untrustworthy, self-serving not to mention selfish animals there are; they love playing to an audience, look at P.M.s question time in the house.

I have no time for them.

Sorry folks, rant over.
