in the mornings we find loads of empty snail shells on the lawn. wondered what cases it do they shed their shells on a regular basis or does some sort of wild life bring them to our lawn to dine on.

wild life in the vicinity are various birds of prey, magpies, grass and adder snakes, weasels, fox, squirrels, badgers could of these be the culprit.

the shells are not broken as if snails sucked out of them.

Seriously, I think it possibly might have been smaller beasties that have devoured the snails, like starvin' ants.

Aitchbee there are a few ants nests could be the answer.
