The smell of whisky in the surrounding ice also indicated full bottles of spirits were inside, albeit that one or more might have broken.

How many have got their tongues stuck on the ice? I reckon I would have done.

Oops. I'm clicking double and I've only had the one drink.

"Shackleton's expedition ran short of supplies on their long trek..."
I think maybe their quartermaster had gotten his priorities wrong.

Local blender now thinks he can recover the blend, which was not recorded.

Scrap that advert.
'matured in oak' - I dont think so as most crates are made of cheap white wood.
And substitute the grouse with a p-p-penquin, not quite right. The Foxes glacier mints bear would fit with a bit of artisic license but I dont think they have them down there......

The crates and bottles are expected to undergo conservation work in New Zealand before being returned to the remote hut at Cape Royds, which the trust is trying to restore to the same condition as when Shackleton's team left it.

They only thought there were two crates. Now they have found five there may be more hope of the odd bottle returning to the distillery.
