The Seasons

I'm sorry everybody, I know the summer hasn't even started, but there's a distinct touch of autumn about this morning.

There is nothing that I`m aware of that tells Mother Nature when each season starts and finishes or even in which order they should come. This year it seems April was June and June ......??????

Strangely enough, I was thinking the same thing.

As someone that actually likes to holiday in this country... it's a disaster, as is the home holiday market.

Don't think the new PM will convince many to stop jetting away;)

The tail end of last week skipped autumn and ended up in November.

November is in autumn - summer officially started on June 21st.

The sequence is accepted as (Spring): March, April May; June, July, August; September, October, November; December, January, February.

..officially started on (or around) June 21st....

I thought it was summer. Not very summerlike though is it? Rain and more rain, freezing cold at times, sleet and hail. And thats the good days.

I know autumn officially starts on the 21st October (Autumnal Equinox) but I always think of it as winter.

  laurie53 20:54 09 Jul 07

I don't care when it officially starts - there was a touch of it about early this morning!

We've had a splendid day today, sunny with ccasional clouds and a bit of a breeze; clouded over at teatime, but no rain so far.

Rain, however, is particularly welcome at this time of the year as our soil is sandy and it saves a lot of watering...:-)
