Mum had one of his LPs, never trendy but always very easy to listen to, gave pleasure by employing professionalism and high quality musicians. Ended up with a quality sound most bands/groups with more street cred couldn't dream of emulating.

Amazing musician.

I remember fondly seeing him at The Royal Albert Hall years ago. If you think today's gigs are noisy, you should have seen the banks of Bose speakers he used. And clear as crystal the sound produced.

Incredible live big band, that was worth every penny of the entrance fee.

Hugely talented musician! His arrangements brought life to so many songs. I liked his "Classics up to date" some of which are so hauntingly beautiful that they bring tears to the eyes! I have several of his LP's which I must get on to digital format! Loved his concerts!
