Redwings and Fieldfare.

I live in North Kent and we used to have Fieldfare and Redwing in our large sports field during cold weather in the winter.
They have been absent for some years now.
This year I would have expected to see them--but no such luck.
Who has got them all??!

South Downs - around Chichester/Goodwood. Saw both at the weekend when I was out with the dog.

who live in Duncton in Sussex - not a million miles from €dstowe I imagine. Their house adjoins open fields, and they saw both birds today. I know, because they called me about five minutes ago, and I asked them. They're keen observers of wildlife.

They must have overflown here again.
I always remember in the 70's when I was in Margate late at night the phone wires along the front were full of Redwing waiting for the 'off'
to go home. March I suppose.
Their arrival always seemed to forecast cold weather ahead.
Still it's nice to know they are still about.

Seen them round and about in Fife, but only in open farmland.

Plenty in the fields at the back of our house in Yorkshire. We seem to get them regularly come winter.
