Pencil artist.

What a gift. Tried to draw a dog for my daughter, the other day, and it turned out to be a bit of a monster.

Wonder if I'm using the wrong type of pencil?

I found them a bit "all much the same" but I'm married to an artist who does this sort of thing all the time.

Still, I wish I had one tenth of "Sandra's" talent.

They're good, but seem to have a static photo moment look. Unlike imperfect spontaneous sketches that appear to capture a living element.

Having said that, I can't draw for nuts, so who am I to criticise!

If you have a discount bookstore called The Works in your area, then it might be worth a browse. They have some very cheap books on this type of work, and from a basic line a delightful drawing can appear. You could also check out your local library, that is if you still have one.

One thing that I do know is that I would not be another David Weston of this world ;o)

Wish I could draw.
