PCA forum redesign - sneak peak!

  simonjary 07:17 01 Apr 10

Hi, there.

We've been reading your wish list on possible new looks for the PC Advisor forums as part of our planned redesign. (See earlier thread.)

We thought it be good to hear your feedback on this mock-up of where we're at right now.

As requested we have tried to add some personality into the design and make all our discussions a bit more fun.

Take a look and let us know what you think:

Thanks, and hope you all have a happy Easter!

Please no avatars or smileys. All those extra images loading, I feel it looks just too cluttered like that

  Kevscar1 07:31 01 Apr 10

I agree no smileys or avatars I think 95% of us are old enough to be totally unimpressed by them.
Page width is still only half width of screen.
How about making it a bit wider then sticking any adverts on right side of page

Rather than view thread would like to see read newest post so it takes you to first one if you haven't seen thread but page 4 if you have already seen the others

Honest opinion. Dreadfull.
This would probably look Ok if it was a website that you visited seldomly but having to look at it every day would put you off using it.
I agree with mark2s comments.
It looks bright and cheer full just not my cup of tea.

You could be right. But I have my doubts.

First reaction was like mark2 and buteman, but then I try to understand that anything 'new' that does not have the familiarity we're used to for the past years, will need time to become 'the norm'.
Old dogs and new tricks, I suppose.

A White background and White print would be nice.
