They were all very well known in their day. A whole host of others also spring to mind.Mickey Rooney for one, is still treading the boards and doing the circuits, he must be neigh on 90.

Always remember Van Johnson singing "Tapioca"in Seige at Red River. Can't think why though.

  John B 09:36 30 Jul 08

They're all alive too!

I remember Syd Charisse very well too and I think she is still alive, may not be in the nineties yet though. I suppose I could google and find out.

Cyd Charisse, I certainly remember her legs but I cannot remember her face :o)

  Fruit Bat /\0/\ 20:38 30 Jul 08

Cyd Charisse

legs were insured for a million dollars and that was back in the fifties.

  Bingalau 20:53 30 Jul 08

Those legs were well worth it too. Brumas.. That reminds me of the old Bootneck saying "You don't look at the mantelpiece when you are poking the fire" Sorry FE.

  Brumas 21:49 30 Jul 08

Aye, but it is nice to look at the clock now and again to just to see how the the time goes :o)

Unfortunately not true, the story was started by the studio as a publicity stunt, but they never actually did it.
