One of our county Councillors, Chris Steward says there is no need for food banks through out the country to help the needy.

Well it looks as if he isn't suffering.

Once again, a councillor or politician completely out of touch with reality. And we (who bothers) elect these sort of people?.

There should be no need for Foodbanks in the UK.

However, there is a small section of the population whose day to day expenses are equal too, or exceed, the State Benefits available to them.

For some these expenses are: For example

Historic, their house cost more than available to heat or maintain.

Self inflicted, they smoke, drink or gamble.

Caused by unforeseen circumstances, their fridge died or the children went through cloths faster than they ere able to replace them within budget.

I shouldn't comment too much on the York Press's article as such as these are frequently based on misquotes, but if he actually said that, he needs to put his brain into gear before he opens his mouth again!
