"You can buy a samurai sword for a gift or a tub of drawing pins to sprinkle on the bathroom floor just for fun"

I have just read the above, taken from an advert in our local rag The Berwick Advertiser, highlighting 'The Works' a new store & cafe in the area.

Barefeet + steamy wet bathroom + loose drawing pins = lots of pain!!

Am I missing something here because, for the life of me, I cannot see who or what they are aiming for?

Brumas it sounds like an advert for bathroom blinds.

Is it that a lot of frisky Berwick locals are using drawing pins to hold up their bathroom nets and they like something to grab on to!!

There must be a good trade in binoculars up there?

I did read the rest of the advert and found that mildly amusing - but you are spot on with your observation "I said it's called humour because it isn't humour but it's called that"

For me to laugh at something ,it has to be funny!
