New cards & drivers

I have had 2 occasions when my manufacturers discs with new equipment proved to have vital drivers missing. The first was several years ago with an ATI graphics card, and my latest escapade has been with a missing Nvidia driver on the makers CD. I cannot begin to explain the trouble it caused me. Now its sorted out I wonder how common this is and if anyone else has had similar problems.

Just download them from the manufacturer's site as I do. It really shouldn't cause you any problems.

..with the Epson printer I bought last year. It ran OK the first time it was used but went into a continuous loop thereafter.

The downloaded ones were OK, but it begs the question of how a company like Epson could put out dodgy software, without noticing. It was a general problem not just a bad CD.
