New UFO files reveal Churchill cover-up

  GANDALF <|:-)> 10:23 05 Aug 10

They were covered up so that simple people would not get all panicky. Just because he 'covered' them up does not mean that they were fact. They were covered up so that the nutters who believe in UFOs did not have a field day. Churchill was probably sozzled at the time which could explain a lot. Another non-story on a slow news day.

Churchill probably didn't want a repeat of US "War of the Worlds Radio Broadcast" in 1938 when thousands panicked and ran into the streets, many packed a bag and ran for the hills believing the martians had landed.

of the bizarre reports received by the police, military and Government, suggesting that the truth might be out there after all."

What a meaningless statement - what 'truth' might be out there?

The truth is definitely out there.

Whether we'll believe it if we ever see it is another matter!
