More of a TV~HiFi related Question

I have an old HiFi system hanging around and I was wondering!

Do you think that I can use a redundant DVD Player (originally used with a TV) to play CDs for the HiFi System through the "Aux" Circuit? It appears to have a pair of "phono sockets" at the back.

I was just going to plug everything in and hope for the best. Then I thought ~ why not ask first!

Most DVD players will also play CDs, some cheap players have no display though, so you may have to play the CDs blind without knowing track numbers etc

A DVD Player designed to work with a TV might be compatible with a HiFi System through the "Aux" Circuitry

'Audio out' sockets on the DVD player it will be fine - they'll output an analogue stereo signal.
