I understand the tracking part, but how do they know the difference between a big spender popping in for 5 minutes and a half-hour browser (me?) who ends up spending nothing.

You don't pass the till?

Depends where the till's sited.

Even if I stop at the till how do they link my £5 for half-an-hour to your £300 for 5 minutes?

"UK company Path Intelligence has proved that the longer people spend in shops, the more they spend."

Anyone who'd been shopping with my wife wouldn't need any high-tech gadgetry to prove that.

I believe IKEA must have been the first to come to this conclusion if the design of their stores is anything to go by. I need a Sat-Nav in our local store or I'd never get home again.
