It's not so much the regrowth of the finger I find amazing, but the nail.

It's made of a different substance (keratin I think) and I would have assumed it would have needed stem cells not just "ordinary" muscle/flesh regeneration.

Medical professionals knew immediately that there was something wrong with this story, and I'm astonished that a BBC news editor allowed such rubbish to be foisted on us in the first place.
