Just Curious

As a Canadian living in the UK (till the Canadian winter is over anyway) I am curious about your speed cameras as we don't have them as such. We do have cops with radar traps.
What I saw today made me wonder what would happen to the boy-racer who flew past me.
I was on a road under construction to become a motorway and the speed limit is 40 mph. The boy-racer flew past me just as we approached a speed camera and got flashed, but not only that, the police car behind him nailed him as well.
My question is this : Does this guy get nailed twice for the same offense?
Just curious.

Depending on what the police were stopping the vehicles driver for. The camera evidence would be used as court evidence, assuming of course, that the camera had film or was connected to a recording device. The driver would not be prosecuted twice for the same offence.
