Mike Stollers partner, together responsible for such hits as Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Kansas City & Stand By Me (amongst many others).

This seems to have gone unnoticed amongst our usual obit hounds.

I spotted it Covergirl! But I just added the comment to the end of the Ella Fitzgerald thread because it was a slightly related subject matter.

It was on TV but would not have known who or what he was, if it had not been for TV

Covergirl - there was coverage on Radio4 this morning on 'Today'. Stoller JNR was being interviewed by Evan Davies...the question was, 'Would Jerry have realised that the songs he was creating would have turned out to be so good'...or words to that effect. Stoller JNR said that Leiber could fit a Tale or Story into 2 or 3 minutes of a pop song, and Stoller JNR also said, that Jerry did not think his songs would endure for more than a year or so.Just goes to show...'You Never Can Tell'
