I've got fungi growing behind the cooker

Do I send for Builder as well as a plumber and Gas Fitter?
I've got fungi growing behind the cooker - leaky pipe in stud wall (must have been dribbling for a very long time)
The gas pipe for the cooker is fitted to the wall that backs onto the bathroom so can't just see to it myself.
The fungi are 2 types, bit like mushrooms but no stalks one is nearly as big as palm of my hand.
I've looked them up and they are the type that grow on rotted wood.
Floor is concrete so no floor boards thank goodness.
Kitchen base Cupboards are going to have to be removed as well :(

Dry rot?

Strangely it grows in damp conditions but needs fairly swift intervention.

No thank goodness, it's Peziza vesiculosa I think.
Still got to identify the other one.
I'm going to take a picture of it.

Gas fitter first. If the existing gas pipe does not have a flexible bayonet fitting so that it can be disconnected to move the cooker, then get him to fit one

At the moment I guess there's not mush room to work

After that you'll be able to see just what is going on

Having had this problem in two properties, its probable that the mushrooms are feeding off the timber in the damp\wet stud wall.

cut out a section of the plasterboard to see if this is the case, rotting timber can be treated, unless it has gone very spongy\crumbly in which case it must be replaced

treat it asap, the spores will not be good for the health of your family.
