Hi folks

I want to be thorough about checking the internet for a particular topic, so I'm trying all of the search engines. It's hard to keep up these days, so I'm trying all the ones I know about....but I want to make sure I'm not missing any.

There are the Big Guns...Google, Yahoo, MSN, and WebCrawler, which is supposed to combine them all.

There's also Alta Vista and dmoz

Am I missing any? Do folks have a preference as to which is best??

cheers all

Sloan

There are also specialist search engines for specific subjects which may not appear on the general interest engines such as Goooooogle.

Examples are click here for the National Library for Medicine, click here for European Patent Office searches

Before settling in to using Google, like so many others, I used to use Dogpile click here which itself uses 10 search engines to find it's results.
