On the night of the Coventry Blitz he was a schoolboy messenger. The row of houses in front of, and behind of his were flattened and when dawn broke they couldn't believe that 3/4 of Coventry was no more.

Those were terrible times, the like of which we never want to see again!
I'm from Hull and my parents lived quite near the river, the tales they told me chilled me to the bone.
Always referred to as 'That North-East Town" Hull. along with Plymouth, were the most severely-bombed British cities, apart from London, during World War II.
