Good Evening All

A slight deviation as this is not a postcard but a 8 x 6 inch GENUINE UNIDENTIFIED photo found in the bottom of a box of postcards Fran acquired yonks ago. I know they are aircraft but what are they and what is going on?

Thanks for the links. As a 7 year old I watched some of the armada of aircraft and gliders flying over en route to D Gay (as we found out next day). I have always been interested in D Day. My uncle was a RNVR Lt Cdr ,OC of a LST landing RM Commandos at D Day and got the DSC there.

You didn't need to explain jb:)

That must have been taken in the last daylight of the night before D day. Once the gliders were airborne, they would be fully committed.

*Quickbeam there is also a photo of a landed glider disgorging it's paratroopers, a posed shot but effective nonetheless.
