Good Evening All.

Looks like a scene from a Lowry painting, but it isn't in England!

I'm going to have to leave it to the night shift.

Wherever it is, they're all taking there place for Lowry to start painting them.

Jock. what a mess they have made of that square now, turned what was an attractive cross roads into a hellish, pedestrianised eyesore

I've heard of cryptic clues, but NW Scotland for Kilmarnock is ridiculous!

I was thinking of Tongue, or maybe Ullapool!

Jock1e, Well Done. Forgive the typo, I knew it was SW and not NW, honest ;o}

Kilmarnock (East Ayrshire) 'Church of my dear little St Ernan'.

Cill (Scottish Gaelic) 'church';

mo (Scottish Gaelic) 'of my';

Iarnan (personal name, reputedly of the priest and uncle of St Columba);

-oc (diminutive suffix).

The name was recorded as Kelmernoke in 1299. This Ayrshire market town was once synonymous with the blue bonnet worn by the Scottish countryman.
