Where I live petrol is going up weekly if not daily. Now we all know the reasons the petrol companies give, spot market increase, exchange rate pound against the dollar,(oil is traded in dollars)& of course the government tax rise.
Now I wonder if the spot price falls or the pound rallies against the dollar will prices tumble at the pumps just as fast?

Well they did during the recession - they fell from prices similar to those today to around 80p / litre within a rather short space of time. I can't see a repeat of that happening though

Prices are related to the space industry -

Fall due to gravity at a constant rate.

Rise like a rocket

"will prices tumble at the pumps just as fast?"

What a quaint idea!
