OK i'm after some information on the London Borough of Ilford.
I'm looking for history on the area between 1900 & 1955.
Does anyone know of any good sites that would cover this area of London & Date?

Thanks, i did that before coming here but it does not seem to have what i'm after.
Wondered if anyone was from that area or could offer advice on the local history of the area.

You may well do worse than contact your local library, council offices and newspapers. These always have vast amounts of information and often someone who manages it and can point you at what you want.

I was born there in 1948, but left when very young for Southend. Always had an interest in the place. I would be interested in anything you may find. In those days it was in Essex, and was not part of London.

The local Newspapers will give you a pretty good idea of what was going on. Back copies are usually available in the local Library.

If you stick to the weeklies you'll only have 2750 to look through!
