Each time I buy / build a new PC I seem to pay half as much for twice the speed.

You can tell the gamers on that chart.
Spent enough to play the games I want and just today fitted a new Graphics card, so it all adds up.

My primary PC is no longer current.

£170 on the monitor and about £450 on my home build, saved money on that too.

Just under £1500 about 2 years ago. With the overlock it'll still keep up with a stock PC of the same value now - unless the other PC has SSDs.....where's my wallet ;)
In all seriousness, I don't envisage anything but a graphic card upgrade in the next 2 years.

The poll results have surprised me with the amount of votes in the top two price categories. That might just be because this is a computer site though.

Built my own, around £400

and the most I've spent on one is £650.

I'm not into games, so it's never been necessary to spend more.
