they dont take as much CPU as the old PCA site.? where's the blackberry ones that dominated the main page.?

As you know Portal11, advertising is what keeps PCA alive. But the old site was groaning under the amount of ads we had to carry, which helped neither PCA, forum users or - to be frank - the advertisers. The same number of ads are on each page now, but they should be less intrusive. We are pretty strict about who we allow to advertise, so I think this is a good thing all around.

I have changed my selections in NoScript (allow all on this page), so a benefit to the advertisers already!
