Part of our national pysche has always been a rather eccentric love of our pets.
OK so it cost a few bob to rescue the mouser, I still like our attitude as a society.
(and, as always, we can nurture our other talent for flaying H&S!).

It always makes me laugh, a presenter on a TV show can't drill a hole in a piece of wood without donning a hard hat, safety glasses, ear protectors and gloves.

The fire service treats cat rescues and the like as training opportunities, so its not necessarily money wasted.
I'm sure if they got a serious shout pussy would have to wait, or make his own way down.
