Google Earth website suggests they are making good progress to supporting further downloads and that we should check back daily. Gives no clue about how long the delay may be though.

I think for a beta version it runs well and seems to have great potential. Bit slow to build detail on maps even on a 2mbs connection.

Is it really that good? Download time even with BB is about 2 hours. Also I find that Google Earth doesn't run on 98SE. Are we being left behind?

I installed the NASA World Wind after following a from here a few weeks ago, it has kept me happy for many hours, great, (brilliant!) program & free.

Yes, it looks that way, at least as far as this is concerned. Why don't you upgrade to WindowsXP?
