We all love the PC but suing your Mum!
Surely this is going a bit too far?

  Shas 14:38 09 Nov 04

What a delightful specimen. Oh how I hope he gets what he truly deserves!

and charge him for the electricity to use it ;)

Balmy, and the final comment by the 'Register' is, to put it mildly, at the edge of insanity. Its's not the equivalent of April 1st over there is it?

my mum wouldn't buy me a brand new PC if i got 100% but as i built my own computer through saving on my paperound the computer is mine for me!,but then again whos paying for electricity?.

  carolineann 19:25 09 Nov 04

Sure is a step too far.

Agree with Shas.

  CurlyWhirly 20:20 09 Nov 04

In my opinion he must know the law backwards to even attempt to take his Mum through the courts at the tender age of 11!
He is braver than me.
Just think that doing this could cause a LIFETIME rift between families i.e. would his Mum EVER forgive him?

  Dorsai 20:25 09 Nov 04

If she could not afford to buy it, why promise it?

They deserve each other. A parent who breaks their promise, and and a kid who cant accept not getting what he/she wants.

I am sure they will continue to make each other's lives miserable, until one stops making promises they cant fulfil, and the other stops expecting the impossible.

  Buchan 35 21:36 09 Nov 04

Well said Shas, what number am I in the queue to do it?

  Buchan 35 21:39 09 Nov 04

One other point to consider here is that Mum didn`t have enough faith in, or knowledge of, her son`s school ability.

The son learnt about law by helping his parents run a small business. That kid's got a great future.
