There's nothing new about these 'extra' charges, its been in the airline industry for ages. I recall in the 1960's plus, when I was hammered due to excess baggage and certain restrictions.
What I have noticed is the increase of failures in 'low budget' airlines, so the squeeze must be taking effect. The big boys (whoever they are) always seems to win and benefit in the long term. Look at the recent T5 saga, yet some people and companies seem to have weathered that storm.
Not being a major airline traveller nowadays, my main concern is the daily increase of fuel prices for householders a vehicle users.
