Footballer Fined £30k

Just heard a news item about a footballer being fined £30k+ for substance abuse.

Not quite what it seems.

The fine was levied by the football league, not the state (who had already had their go) for being convicted of drink drive, and therefore bringing the game into disrepute, and the league was the NFL in the US.

Any chance of the FA trying it?

The 'fine' of '30k' is 'chicken-feed' to 'Top footballers'. '3000k' would make a dent.
